General Time Table

In our years of wedding photography we have seen a lot of weddings and have gained a lot of experience. Here are some common myths that we hear people say about wedding photography.

Wedding portraits are stressful.

Wedding Photography - Couple/CandleWedding portraits should be a fun part of a wedding. We work hard to have fun during the portrait sessions and during the candid moments where we are watching your wedding un-fold.

If you are having formal wedding portraits done be sure to make sure that everyone is aware of what is happening and when. Looking for wandering family members can make the time drag. We want you to be relaxed so you will look relaxed in your wedding memories. To achieve that goal we will work with you in planning and during the wedding day our goal is make your day as much fun as it can be.

Wedding portraits take time away from the reception.Wedding Reception

Most of our couples have all their photography done before the wedding. However, not all couples chose to take that approach. Our goal is no more than 30 minutes after the wedding.

We will work hard to make this time as short as possible. If for some reason we were unable to take all the requested images before the wedding we may need some extra time after the wedding. As soon as the last formal portrait is taken we will follow you to the reception. You will not be waiting on us to pack equipment.

Why can't I have a friend take the photos :

There are many reasons that people say they don't need or want a professional. If your wedding memories are important you will want a professional like Art's Photography.

Your friends are not likely to have backup equipment. We carry 2-3 cameras and backups for all of our lights. Our lights are powerful enough to light an entire wedding party.

In addition, we bring a notebook with us so before we leave the wedding there will be two copies of your images and we will have previewed them.

We also have the experience to deal with the un-expected. The few dollars saved by letting someone give your wedding photos as a gift will be forgotten when you see the final images from your wedding.

If you have a friend who wants to take your wedding photos please encourage them to cover the reception and the rehearsal. We will work with your friend to help them provide you with a selection of family and friend photos that they can take because they know the family relationships and will know who the special people are in your life.

If you still want a friend to photograph your wedding be sure to ask other friends whose weddings they photographed or look at their work.
